ageha painting update. (at studio now)
this painting is killing me. I started it so i could have something very fun and different and light/PINK to play with to counteract all the intensity and somber mood of my life lately but instead idk. It has plenty of conceptual space, would play into my interest in the relation between art, sex and consumerism in japan. but idk. really its just the medium thats bringing me down. Acrylics dry much to fast for my style of painting but i need the water and polymer based medium for when i start getting into the more playful textural aspects of it (glitter, rhinestones, pearls, big-arse blobs of paint).
really i don't have to be here working so hard on it right now but..... i don't want to be at my apartment. I want to paint, it's what's important to me and enjoyable and I'm not enjoying a whole lot lately......
pout.

oh hell.
Well I'm def going to be in the throes of productivity this week. you can tell by my desk moved out to be the coffee table with hijacked table top. It's looking like the formal analysis painting is going to be The Book of Kells vs. Tale of Genji/ Heian era art. The odds are on Nippon. either or I'll use gold leaf so yay for gaudy moment.
Also running the DVD fireplace constantly, balmy day of summer or no. loves it.

setting up the art space.
Well now I've been doing silk painting in fibers, forgot to photograph my experiments but I do have the design for my project (silk paint a scarf) that I'll be completing tomorrow and have set up an impromtu studio in the dining area of the apartment and in general been movin furniture about.
The roomies don't care course because they've moved out and aren't even awares.
Just realised I'm out of red wine. major dilema. I think I'm going to try making satay chicken with a microwave steamer. God, It just sounds like it's not going to work....oh well!
Also keep an eye out, I'm going to open a new portfolio page on my website for misc. projects - like my 3-d lotus pods one that I was quite into.

My other next project is oing to be a piece that is an alternate option for a final essay for art history (prehist - ren), I thinking of doing a piece inspired by Gothic Iconography.
